WHY AM I ASKING FOR HELP?

Traditional agricultural research seldom benefits small-scale farmers in developing countries. I want to do research that helps local people grow their own food, regenerate their indigenous soils and reduce use of synthetic fertilisers.
HOW WILL I DO THE RESEARCH?

I will go on a mission to Thailand to collect samples from target regions and to conduct basic geological research. I will take these specimens back home and dive into the lab to investigate and draw conclusions.
WHAT AM I GOING TO RESEARCH?

Legumes, such as beans and peas, are protein-rich plants that are healthy and improve soil quality. Soil bacteria living in the legume roots are crucial to these attributes. My research will identify these soil bacteria to use them to improve agriculture.
